Library Lessons and Borrowing
This year, library lessons will consist of an explicit literacy lesson taught by Mrs Martin followed by borrowing. Students will be encouraged to borrow regularly and must use a library bag to protect the books as they travel to and from school. St Paul’s waterproof library bags can be purchased via the school office. Library lessons will begin Week 4.

Many Hands Make Light Work
The school library requires your help. At the moment, we are unable to have parent helpers onsite, however, there are many behind the scene tasks like book covering that needs to continue. If you have been a ‘Parent Library Helping Hand’ in the past or you would like to help this year, please send an email to;
Mrs Martin at info@spcdow.catholic.edu.au as I am in the process of updating the current register. Please mention the following in your email;
- Have you previously assisted in the library or are you new and willing to lend a hand?
- If you have previously helped, what was your role? Contacting books, Plastic covering of hard books, reshelving of books (when allowed on site).
- Don’t forget to include a name and contact phone number.
It is important to remember that book covering doesn’t require you to be an expert. All resources are provided including an instruction sheet explaining ‘How to…’. It would be greatly appreciated if you could offer your time to assist our school library.
