From the Principal's Desk

Dear Parents/Carers,

The final week of school is upon us.  I know the teachers have had an incredibly challenging time as we close in on the end of term.  I can only imagine how challenging it must have been for you.  Hopefully the restrictions will continue to ease as the vaccination rates continue to climb.

That said, there is much to look forward to next term.  Having the children back from the middle of the term will come as a welcome relief to all.  I also know the teachers will be very happy to get back to their classrooms.  Education has and always will be a social activity and I think that this is what all children crave for.  Being able to see their friends, play with them and share their “kid secrets” are the joys that school life provides.

Finally, it would be my wish that you and your children are able to find some sense of the “Sabbath” during the holiday vacation.  This is a  time where remote learning can be put away  and we reconnect to our God, to others and the earth.  Sabbath may be experienced in play, fun, leisure, gardening, prayer, music making, recreational sports and with friends.  In Sabbath, we restore the balance between the three levels of time; measured time, special moment time and time with our loving Father.  All three are needed to become truly whole and present.

Enjoy the break and go gently,

Michael Reardon
Principal

NAPLAN 2021 RESULTS

NAPLAN 2021 student reports for Year 3 and Year 5 have arrived at the school.  We will be sending each student's report home via mail this week.  I will report in detail about our results early next term.  In summary, overall, the results are the best for St Paul’s since 2008.  This is an indication that our classroom practice in literacy and numeracy continues to improve as reflected in the student’s results. My next newsletter will outline in more detail our school achievements.  Great results indicate committed teachers, parents and students.

Great outcome!
