Christmas Art Competition
On Sunday, 29 November the 2020 Christmas Art Competition Diocese of Sydney took place via a virtual platform. This was the final stage for our entrants in the 2020 Christmas Art Competition.
Initially over 800 students were given the opportunity to enter the 2020 Christmas Art Competition, 95 students were then selected to progress to the Sydney Competition.
The Christmas Art Competition is an initiative of the Catholic Education Offices in Wollongong and Sydney, designed to celebrate and explore children's creative and artistic ability in illustrating the Christmas story.
This exhibition and competition provides the opportunity for Year 5 and 6 students to share with the wider community a greater awareness of the role of the arts in Religious Education. Children can develop appreciation for their talents and recognise the value of the arts in expressing understandings of the Catholic faith.
St Paul's entered six students to be considered for entry into the Wollongong competition, of these five were selected. At the awards ceremony four of our students then progressed into the Sydney Competition.
It is with great pleasure that we inform our school community that these prestigious awards were given to the following students:
Kobe Perkins - Overall 3rd place Year 5
Isabella Levan - Equal Overall 3rd Place Year 6
Oliver Connelly - Journey Award
We would also like to recognise and congratulate Scarlett Winkler - Year 5. She did not receive an award on Sunday but should be extremely proud her artwork gained further entry into the competition, especially as the quality, creativeness and artistic talent this year was truly amazing!
Special mention to Lara Linden - Year 6 and Noah Manojlovic - Year 6 for their wonderful artwork contributions to the competition.
