From the Principal's Desk

Dear Parents/Carers,

Last Friday, we celebrated one of the most cherished traditions at St Paul’s – Grandparents and Special People Day. It was a wonderful opportunity to pause, reflect, and give thanks for the love, wisdom, and support that these special people bring to the lives of our students and families.

First and foremost, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make the day so memorable – from our staff and students to the many families who joined us and to the P&F who organised a morning tea to remember . Your efforts created a beautiful celebration that reminded us all of the strength and love found in our wider school community.

This day is more than just an event – it is a living expression of our Christian faith. The Christian message is one of hope, renewal, and new beginnings, and that spirit was alive and well last Friday. In every smile, every shared memory, and every moment of connection, we saw the essence of what it means to belong to a caring, faith-filled community.

From our youngest learners to the wisest elders, the day was filled with dreams and joy. Each child carries with them hopes for the future – about who they are becoming and the stories they’ll one day tell about growing up and going to a Catholic school. Last Friday, part of that story was written, one filled with kindness, faith, and connection.

As I walked through the school and spoke with families, I was reminded of a beautiful piece of advice once shared with me by a Josephite Sister:

“When you walk about me, walk gently, lest you tread on my dreams.”

It’s a powerful reminder for us all – especially as parents and carers in such a fast-paced world. Are we making time to listen carefully, to encourage gently, and to support the dreams our children are forming each day?

Last Friday made me stop and reflect – and I hope it did the same for many of you.

Go Gently,

Michael Reardon
