Waste Free Wednesdays

A reminder that all students are encouraged to participate in Waste Free Wednesdays. Each Wednesday, students who bring a waste free lunchbox to school receive a playground token that counts towards their house’s total for the School House Cup. We have many students, particularly in infants who regularly bring a waste free, or minimal waste lunch each day of the week. Well done infants!! 

Waste free lunches help the environment by reducing single use plastic packaging and is also a great way to reduce the likelihood of litter on our school playground. We encourage families to commit to making some slight changes to their purchasing habits in order to reduce the number of packaged items in student lunchboxes. A great tip is to choose items that are in larger quantities rather than packaged into single serves. This can also be a more cost effective choice.
